Tailfold

Tailfold and Zoom

How an organisation connects its Zoom account to Tailfold, what the connection does with lessons, and how to remove it.

Updated 17 October 2026

Tailfold hosts no video meetings itself. An organisation connects its own Zoom account, and Tailfold then creates one Zoom meeting per lesson, gives each participant a personal link and proposes attendance from Zoom's participant report. This is the guide for staff.

Adding

  1. Sign in to the administration with an account that is an owner, administrator or manager of the organisation.

  2. Open Integrations and press Connect Zoom.

  3. Sign in to Zoom with the account that will host the lessons and approve the permissions. Tailfold asks only for what it needs: read the user, create, update and delete meetings, register participants, read the participant report and read cloud recordings.

  4. Back in Tailfold, the card shows which Zoom account is connected.

A Zoom account can be connected to one organisation at a time. Participant registration and the participant report require a paid Zoom account; with a free account everyone gets the same meeting link and the attendance proposal rests on the click on Join in Tailfold.

Using

  • One meeting per lesson: on a lesson in the administration, press Create Zoom meeting. If the lesson is moved or cancelled, the meeting follows. A whole course run can get its meetings at once.

  • Participants see Join under My courses and on Today from 15 minutes before the start, and get reminders a day and an hour before. The link is never sent by e-mail; the click in Tailfold is part of the attendance evidence.

  • Attendance: once the lesson is over, Tailfold fetches Zoom's participant report, or receives Zoom's events during the meeting, and shows a proposal per participant. The teacher confirms the list under Attendance. Nobody is marked present without a person confirming it.

  • Recordings: a cloud recording the teacher makes in Zoom is linked to the lesson under the course material, visible only to participants with a place on that session. The file stays with Zoom.

  • Breakout rooms: courses with pods can export a CSV for Zoom's pre-assigned breakout rooms.

Removing

Press Disconnect on the Zoom card under Integrations, or remove Tailfold under Zoom Marketplace → Manage → Added Apps. Both delete Tailfold's access to the account at once; Tailfold confirms the removal to Zoom. Meetings already created stay in the Zoom account, and attendance already confirmed stays in Tailfold for the organisation's retention periods.
